ALMAVERA was born in Madrigal de la Vera, in the heart of the La Vera region and at the foothills of the Sierra de Gredos, as a project dedicated to restoring charming houses and transforming them into boutique holiday apartments, where traditional architecture and contemporary design coexist in harmony with nature and tranquility.
Casa Pura Calma, made up of three independent apartments, represents the most peaceful side of the ALMAVERA philosophy. Fully renovated and opened in 2025, the house preserves its original character while incorporating modern and sustainable materials carefully integrated into the surroundings, creating bright and welcoming spaces designed for rest and comfort.
The Colibrí 2 apartment, with capacity for up to 4 guests, is fully furnished and equipped. It offers 40 m² thoughtfully distributed to provide comfort, functionality and a warm, modern atmosphere.
Located on the second floor, the apartment is practically brand new and has been designed with care so that every detail contributes to a comfortable and authentic stay. From its windows you can enjoy beautiful views of the Sierra de Gredos and the Tiétar Valley, a landscape that accompanies every moment of your stay.
The space
• Main bedroom with double bed, bed linen included, spacious wardrobe and cozy decoration designed for restful nights.
• Living room with a large and comfortable two-person sofa bed (140 × 180 cm), flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi throughout the apartment.
• Fully equipped kitchen with coffee maker, oven, microwave, ceramic hob, refrigerator, toaster, washing machine, dishwasher and complete kitchenware.
• Elegant and contemporary bathroom with modern shower, towel radiator, towels, hairdryer, shampoo and shower gel.
• Extras included: additional bedding for the sofa bed, blankets and basic cleaning supplies.
You will also find small welcome touches such as coffee, tea and herbal infusions so that you feel at home from the very first moment.
The surroundings
Staying at ALMAVERA · Casa Pura Calma means discovering one of the most beautiful natural destinations in northern Extremadura. Madrigal de la Vera, located in the Tiétar Valley and next to the Sierra de Gredos, is well known for its crystal-clear natural gorges, lush landscapes and a pleasant microclimate for much of the year.
Very close to the apartment you can visit iconic places such as the Alardos Gorge, enjoy hiking trails through oak and chestnut forests, explore the area by bike or on horseback, or discover some of the most charming villages in La Vera, such as Valverde de la Vera and Villanueva de la Vera.
The region is also famous for its traditional gastronomy, with products as renowned as Pimentón de La Vera, and for its peaceful atmosphere, perfect for disconnecting and enjoying nature.

How to get to ALMAVERA · Casa Pura Calma
Arriving in Almavera is part of the experience. The journey crosses open landscapes, meadows, and views of the Sierra de Gredos mountains before entering the tranquil charm of Madrigal de la Vera.
🚗 From the A-5 (Madrid – Badajoz)
Take exit 148 towards Madrigal de la Vera and continue approximately 31 km to the town.
Upon entering Madrigal, turn left onto Avenida de los Cabreros and continue straight ahead past the Town Hall. At the small roundabout with its fountain, turn right onto Calle de los Naranjos .
At the Coviran supermarket, turn left and continue to the church. There, turn left onto Calle de los Balcones Largos and continue straight ahead without changing direction. The street will change its name (Hernán Cortés and later Camino de Conejeras), passing through Plaza Machaderos with its traditional fountain of the Six Spouts.
Finally, turn right onto Almanzor Street , go about 100 meters and you will find ALMAVERA · Casa Pura Calma.
🚗 If you are coming from Oropesa
The road turns directly into Avenida de los Cabreros, so you can follow the above directions from that point.
We recommend driving slowly, as the streets of the historic center are traditional and somewhat narrow. The visit is well worth it.

Mi nombre es Juanfra. Nací en Madrid, aunque desde pequeño he vivido en Daimiel (Ciudad Real). Sin embargo, mi brújula personal siempre me ha llevado hacia Madrigal de la Vera.
ALMAVERA es un proyecto personal creado junto a Silvia, mi mujer. Nace de un vínculo emocional heredado de mi abuela y de mi madre, ambas nacidas aquí, y de la conexión profunda que sentimos desde hace muchos años con esta tierra. Para mí, ALMAVERA es una forma de honrar ese legado familiar y devolverle a La Vera parte de todo lo que me ha dado desde niño.
Hemos puesto toda nuestra ilusión en transformar casas con historia en apartamentos boutique con identidad propia. Mi formación como Ingeniero Civil me permite entender la estructura y la funcionalidad de cada espacio; mi faceta como artista plástico aporta sensibilidad, atención al detalle y el cuidado por las texturas y la luz que convierten una estancia en algo especial.
Amo profundamente el carácter salvaje de la Sierra de Gredos. Disfruto perdiéndome por sus senderos, recorriéndolos a pie o a caballo, respirando el aire limpio de la sierra y sintiendo el agua fresca y cristalina de sus gargantas. Esa energía es la que he intentado trasladar a cada rincón de nuestras casas: espacios pensados no solo para alojarse, sino para reconectar.
Nuestro compromiso es ofrecer un alojamiento cuidado, cómodo y auténtico, donde quienes nos visitan se sientan tranquilos, bien atendidos y como en casa.
